Avia Environmental was founded in response to many requests for a greater choice in environmental consultants in the Puget Sound Area and North Central Washington.  At Avia, we understand that hiring a consultant for environmental services is a daunting endeavor.  We created Avia as a small, low-overhead, client-oriented firm so that we could offer an economical alternative to large firms, and we seek to make sure our clients are always fully informed and their needs addressed.  We are pleased to be able to provide affordable permitting, delineation, mitigation, and resource management services in our communities.    Please see the “Services” link for a more detailed list of what we offer.

Owner and founder Suzanne Tomassi brings 18 years of experience in environmental consulting to Avia Environmental.  Prior to founding Avia, while working for other firms, Suzanne served private and public clients, successfully obtaining local, state, and federal permits and conducting environmental studies in multiple jurisdictions, including Douglas, Chelan, King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Pacific, San Juan, and Whatcom Counties, and the Cities of Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, Bothell, Kenmore, Shoreline, Kent, North Bend, and many others.

Suzanne is a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), the only Washington State wetland certification available; she is also a Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB).  She holds a Master of Science degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  She is on the Preferred Consultant lists in King and Pierce Counties.
